Here’s the poem I wrote for my sweet girl that we read at her service…
Oh my sweet Liliana,
How could this day come to be;
It seems like only yesterday,
I felt you kicking inside of me.
We only had just minutes,
To hold you while your heart still beat;
To tell you that we loved you,
To kiss your angel feet.
So now we look to heaven,
When we speak your precious name;
Your life is now with Him above,
And ours will never be the same.
Where you are there’s no more sorrow,
No sickness, no more pain;
No tears flowing from mommy’s eyes,
No darkness and no rain.
I know He holds you in His arms,
Where mommy’s hands once were;
You’re safe and warm on angels’ wings,
Of that I know for sure.
While I take comfort in His word,
That our Savior holds you near;
There’s one small thing that I must ask,
Please grant me this my dear.
Come meet me in my dreams tonight,
Please visit while I sleep;
Let me see your face, sweet girl,
So I can smile and no longer weep.
We’ll laugh and play and cuddle close,
Just like if you were here;
Whisper sweet lullabies and secrets,
While I nibble on your ear.
Do this for mommy, my angel girl,
As simple as it seems;
Cause life will be so perfect when,
I see you in my dreams.
